Residents Disability Group

RDG group Our Disability Group is run by residents for residents. It is made up of disabled residents, their carers and families who meet every other month to raises awareness of disability issues in Gwalia.

The group help us to provide information about our services, from help to complete benefit forms to advice and other free services. Their input helps us to improve the lives of disabled residents and to identify gaps in service provision.

The group has an elected committee responsible for day to day management and each meeting usually includes a speaker from an external agency on relevant current topics.

 

 

Open to any tenant, carer or family; the group will meet at our Kingsway office at 10am on the following dates throuout 2016: 

  • Wednesday 27th January 2016
  • Wednesday 23rd March 2016
  • Wednesday 25th May 2016 (AGM)
  • Wednesday 20th July 2016
  • Wednesday 28th September 2016
  • Wednesday 23rd November 2016

As well as meetings, the group organises a number of trips throughout the year. If you would like to be kept informed of what is happening, please contact our Tenant Participation Officer on 0800 012 1080 to get added to our database. You will then receive letters inviting you the Disability Groups events as they occur throughout the year.
