End of year tournament highlights homelessness
SFW logoThird Sector organisations are coming together from across Wales for an end of year football competition tackling social exclusion.

Street Football Wales will host an end of year football tournament to tackle issues surrounding social exclusion and homelessness. The project currently runs monthly football leagues throughout Wales, including a new league to be formed in the Rhondda Valleys in March 2014.

Over 200 participants from 24 teams will be attending the event. Swansea IOIS, current reigning champions, will be challenged by the likes of African Black Mambas, winners of the Swansea West League and Solas Dragons, winners of the East League.

Carl Griffin, a Caerlas Cougars team member said “Players wake up at seven in the morning and travel far to get to these events. What might sound just like a fun day becomes the highlight of my week”.

The tournament will take place on Tuesday 17 December at Pitchside, Cwmdu Industrial Estate, from 9.15am-4:30pm. Members of the general public are welcome to show their support and push Street Football Wales forward for the future.
