Gwalia Staff & Clients shine at the 2013 Cymorth Cymru Awards

Promoting Independence 2013Care and Support staff and clients were among the winners at the 2013 Promoting Independence Awards in Cardiff on December 6th.

The awards are a joint event between Cymorth Cymru and Welsh Local Authorities and aim to raise the profile of the Housing-related Support, Homelessness and Supported Living sectors and to showcase and celebrate work being done within the sector to help some of the most vulnerable members of our society.

Both social care and supported housing at Gwalia came away with wins on the night. Staff at Morfa Afan and Min Yr Afon Residential Care Homes won the Top Team Award and a resident of Brecon Foyer, Brandon Wood, won the Service User Achievement Award.

Huge congratulations to staff at Morfa Afan, Min Yr Afon, Brandon and to the staff at Brecon House.

The Promoting Independence Awards take place every December with a deadline for nominations in September.
