Lovell to build our new homes in St Thomas
We have appointed affordable housing specialist Lovell to build 19 new homes for social rent in Swansea.
Lovell recently started construction work on the £1.4 million contract which will take 12 months to complete. The new flats will be built on the former Margaret Street Nursery site in Wallace Road, St Thomas. They will be available as social rented properties when complete.
The development will meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, which measures energy-efficiency.
Stuart Davies, our Executive Director of Property Development and Management, said: "Our development will revitalise brownfield land in this really popular residential area near Swansea city centre. It’s a great site with fantastic views over the new SA1 waterfront development and out to Mumbles Head."
Lovell regional director Nick Kurobasa said: "We’re delighted to be using our expertise in delivering high-quality, energy-efficient housing to help create these new flats".
The contract was awarded to Lovell through a competitive tendering process via the Gorwel Construction Framework.
