New Year at the Liberty Staduim for residents from Swansea Foyer

Swansea Foyer visit Liberty Stadium - Goal A group of residents from our Swansea Foyer were given a New Year’s treat with surprise tickets to a top Liberty Stadium football match.

Swansea Council arranged for 17 young people and three members of staff from the Ty Tom Jones Foyer to watch the 2-2 FA Cup encounter against Arsenal from an executive box.

The Swansea Foyer project on Alexandra Road in the city centre provides supported housing for young homeless people and supports clients to gain skills and independence to move on to permanent housing.

One of our Team Leaders at the project, Mike Green said: “Our thanks go out to Cllr David Phillips, the Leader of Swansea Council, who arranged for us to watch the match from an executive box at the Liberty Stadium. It was an amazing gesture and a fabulous new experience for the young people. Everyone who went along thoroughly enjoyed the day. The match was very exciting and the view from the box was outstanding. We were all absolutely thrilled when Danny Graham scored an equalising goal for the Swans right at the end of the match.
