NHOs get mobile with their new tablet devices

Sarah with her tablet Neighbourhood Housing Officer Sarah is over the moon with her new mobile device, claiming it’s the best thing since sliced bread!

Sarah has been raving about her tablet since the roll-out of the mobile devices to all Neighbourhood Housing Officers earlier this year. “It’s amazing,” she said. “I love it, I really don’t know how I managed before.”

IT began introducing the tablets to housing officers earlier in the year so that they could access key information while on the go. Head of IT Rachel Levi said the NHOs access the files that they need via Citrix. “Basically, these tablets help the officer access information that they would normally have to come back to the office to get the answer for. It’s making their jobs so much easier and the feedback IT has been getting is that they are great.”

Sarah says the areas she works in can be remote: “So having information on the go means I get more done. I don’t have to ring the office or come back at all. If a tenant wants to know where in the system a repair request is, I can log on and find out there and then. All the information I need is at my fingertips. I can type up my notes in the car between meetings and it’s easier to access from home. I’d be lost without it.”
