Summer fayre celebration for care home’s 1st anniversary
The local community in Baglan joined staff and residents from Gwalia’s Llys y Seren care home to celebrate its 1st anniversary with a summer fayre on Saturday 20th June.
Llys y Seren was the first new care home to be completed in a partnership between housing, care and support provider, Gwalia and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council to re-provide residential care in the county and opened in June 2014.
The building’s car park buzzed with activity including live music, children’s entertainment, food stalls and the very striking Little Red Bus Bar: A VW camper van fitted out as a mobile, outdoor bar.
The day got underway at 1.30pm with manager Karen Rogers welcoming everyone before the Llys Y Seren staff singers joined residents for a moving rendition of “Que Sera, Sera”. The live music continued throughout the afternoon with Cantorian Afan ladies choir and local bands Moonshine and The Two Tones.
